How do I book a tattoo at your studio?

You can book by filling in our enquiry form on the website, messaging us or an artist on social media or popping into the studio. We will usually ask for a brief idea of what you want, where you want it, roughly how big, plus a couple of clear photos of the area. On your first visit you will also need to bring valid photo ID so we can set you up on our system.

Do I need a consultation first?

For larger pieces, cover ups, reworks or anything complex, you're welcome to book a consultation first. This can be in person, phone, or messages, depending on what is needed. Small, straightforward tattoos can often be booked without a full consultation.

How far in advance do I need to book?

This depends on the artist and the size of the tattoo. Smaller pieces can sometimes be fitted in fairly quickly. Larger projects and popular artists will have a longer waiting list. If you have a specific date in mind, it is always best to get in touch as early as you can.

Do you take a deposit, and is it refundable?

Yes. We take a deposit to secure your appointment and to cover the artist’s design time. Deposits are non refundable, but as long as you give enough notice to move your appointment, we can normally transfer the deposit to a new date. We only allow one reschedule per deposit. If you reschedule with less than 48 hours' notice, a new deposit will be required.

What happens if I need to reschedule or cancel?

If you need to move your appointment, contact us as soon as possible. With enough notice we can usually reschedule and move your deposit. Late cancellations or no shows may result in your deposit being lost and a new one being required to book again.

What if I am running late on the day?

Things happen, we get it. Please message or ring the studio if you think you will be late. If you are more than a set amount of time late, it may cut into your tattoo time or we might have to rearrange, depending on the artist’s day.

Can I book an appointment for someone else?

You can buy a voucher or pay a deposit for someone, but the person being tattooed must contact us directly to go through the design, medical questions and consent forms. They must also bring their own ID on the day.

How do you work out the price of a tattoo?

Prices are based on how long the tattoo is likely to take, the level of detail, placement on the body and the artist’s experience. We can usually give a ballpark figure from your enquiry and confirm a more accurate price at consultation. The minimum charge of £60 will always apply. The price would only change if the size of your tattoo changed on the day.

Do you charge by the hour or by the piece?

This depends on the artist and the tattoo. Some work to an hourly or day rate, others prefer to quote a set price for the piece. We will always explain how your artist prices their work before you commit.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash and bank transfer. If you would like to use a finance or buy now pay later option, let us know in advance so we can confirm what is available and how it works. We cannot offer Klarna on the day of your session, so please let us know if you'd like this option.

When do I pay for my tattoo?

A deposit is paid when you book. The remaining balance is normally due at the end of your session on the day of the tattoo. If you are using Klarna, your plan will be set up before the appointment so that the full agreed amount is covered.

Are touch ups included in the price?

Simple touch ups caused by normal healing are often either free or charged at a reduced rate within a certain time frame. Touch ups needed because of poor aftercare, sun damage or picking may be charged at the artist’s usual rate.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes. We offer vouchers that can be used towards tattoos, laser sessions or merch. Vouchers are valid for a set period of time and must be presented when paying. They cannot be exchanged for cash.

Do I have to tip my artist?

Tips are never expected, but they are always appreciated. If you feel your artist has looked after you and gone the extra mile, a tip is a nice way to say thank you.

How should I prepare my skin before getting tattooed?

Keep the area clean and moisturised in the weeks leading up to your appointment. Avoid sunburn, fake tan and heavy exfoliation. If the skin is damaged or peeling, we may have to reschedule.

Should I shave the area beforehand?

Leave it for your artist to sort at the studio. Please do not wax the area shortly before your appointment.

Can I drink alcohol the night before or on the day?

Alcohol can thin your blood and affect healing. We strongly recommend avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment and you must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs on the day. If you arrive under the influence, we will refuse to tattoo you and your deposit will be lost.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothes that give easy access to the area being tattooed and that you do not mind getting marked by stencil or ink.

Do I need to eat before my tattoo?

Yes. Have a proper meal beforehand and bring snacks and a drink, especially for longer sessions. A stable blood sugar level helps with pain and stops you feeling faint.

Can I take painkillers before my tattoo?

Paracetamol is usually fine for most people. Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen and other blood thinning medication unless specifically approved by your doctor. If you are on prescribed medication, ask your GP or pharmacist first.

Can I use numbing cream?

If you are considering numbing cream, tell us when you book. Some artists are happy to work over it, some prefer not to. We will advise you which products are suitable and how to apply them safely if they are allowed.

What happens when I arrive at the studio?

Right the doorbell on our gate and an artist will come and get you. You'll be asked to complete a consent and medical form, and your artist will go through the design and placement with you. Once you are both happy, they will apply the stencil or freehand the design and start the tattoo.

Can I bring a friend with me?

You can bring one friend for support, as long as they are respectful and do not disrupt the session. Space is limited, so we may need extra people to wait elsewhere, especially on busy days. Nobody under the 18 is allowed on the premises, so if childcare is required, please arrange this prior to your arrival.

Can I use my phone or film the process?

You can usually listen to music, scroll or message on your phone as long as you stay still. Filming is sometimes allowed, but please ask your artist first. We do not allow filming other clients.

Will I get breaks during a long session?

Yes. Your artist will build in short breaks so you can stretch, use the loo, eat or grab a drink. If you need an extra break, just ask, but try not to move suddenly while the machine is running.

How painful will it be?

Pain levels depend on the area, your own pain tolerance and how long the session is. Most people find it uncomfortable rather than unbearable. Your artist will check in with you and work at a pace that you can manage.

What if I start to feel faint or unwell?

Tell your artist straight away. We will pause, get you some water, lower the chair and let you recover. There is no need to feel embarrassed, it happens more often than you would think.

Can I change my design on the day?

Small tweaks to size or minor details are usually fine. Large changes or completely new ideas may not be possible on the day and might require a new appointment and deposit.

How do you keep everything clean?

We work to professional hygiene standards. Needles and cartridges are single use and opened in front of you. Work areas are disinfected between clients, and artists wear fresh gloves and protective covers on equipment.

Do you reuse needles or cartridges?

No. All needles and cartridges are single use and are disposed of in clinical sharps bins immediately after your session.

Are children allowed in the studio?

No. Nobody under the age of 18 is allowed on the premises, even if they are with an adult. This keeps the studio environment focused, calm and compliant with our licence and insurance conditions.

Can I eat or drink in the tattoo area?

You can have bottled drinks and small snacks between passes, but open food near the work area is restricted for hygiene reasons. We may ask you to eat in the waiting area instead.

What is your policy on smoking and vaping?

Smoking and vaping are not allowed anywhere inside the studio. If you need to step outside for a smoke or vape during a long session, let your artist know.

Can I see your licences and certifications?

Yes. The studio licence from the local council and hygiene certificates are available in the studio. Artists also hold individual registrations too.

Do you photograph tattoos for your portfolio or social media?

We usually like to take a quick photo of the finished piece for our portfolio and social media. If you prefer not to have your tattoo photographed or posted, tell your artist and we will respect that. Also, please do not be offended if your artist does not post your tattoo, as social feeds are often planned around certain styles, projects or schedules.

What is the minimum age to get tattooed?

You must be at least 18. This is UK law. We will ask for valid photo ID and will refuse to tattoo you if you cannot provide it, even if you look older.

Can I get tattooed if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

We do not tattoo anyone who is pregnant. Most artists also prefer not to tattoo clients who are breastfeeding in case of infection or complications. It is best to wait until after this period.

I have a medical condition. Can I still get a tattoo?

Many conditions can be safely worked around, but some require GP clearance or mean we cannot tattoo you. Conditions such as clotting disorders, heart problems, immune issues, diabetes, epilepsy and skin conditions in the area all need to be discussed honestly on your consent form.

I take blood thinners or other medication. Is that a problem?

Blood thinning medication can increase bleeding and affect healing. Do not stop any prescribed medication without talking to your doctor. Let us know what you take so we can advise whether a tattoo is suitable and if you need written clearance.

What if I have allergies or sensitive skin?

Tell us about any allergies, especially to metals, latex, antiseptics or adhesives. We can arrange a patch test with certain products if needed. If you have a known reaction to specific ingredients, bring details with you.

Can you refuse to tattoo someone?

Yes. We reserve the right to refuse service if we believe a tattoo is unsafe for your health, if you are under the influence, underage, aggressive, or if the design requested is offensive or against our studio values.

Do I have to fill out a consent form every time?

Yes. A fresh consent and medical form is required for each new session so that the information we work from is up to date. This protects both you and the artist. ID is only required on your first visit.

How do I look after my tattoo in the first few days?

Your artist will clean and wrap your tattoo at the end of the session. Leave the wrap on for the recommended time, then gently wash with lukewarm water and mild, fragrance free soap. Pat dry with a clean towel and apply a thin layer of aftercare product as advised.

How long will my tattoo take to heal?

Surface healing usually takes around 1 to 2 weeks, but deeper layers of skin can take several more weeks to fully settle. Peeling, light scabbing and itching are all normal parts of the process.

Can I shower, swim or go to the gym with a fresh tattoo?

Quick showers are fine as long as you avoid soaking the tattoo. Do not swim, use hot tubs or saunas until the tattoo is fully healed. Heavy exercise that causes friction or a lot of sweating on the area is best avoided during the first week or so.

What aftercare products should I use?

We recommend a gentle, fragrance free moisturiser or a specific tattoo aftercare balm. Avoid petroleum heavy products unless your artist has said they are suitable, and never use perfumed lotions or harsh antiseptics on a fresh tattoo. We sell aftercare in the studio.

My tattoo is scabbing and itchy. Is that normal?

Light scabbing and itching are very common. Do not pick, scratch or peel the area, as this can pull out colour and cause scarring. Instead, wash gently, keep it moisturised and tap the area lightly if the itch is driving you mad.

How do I know if my tattoo is infected?

Warning signs can include increasing redness and swelling after the first few days, hot skin, thick yellow or green discharge and feeling generally unwell. If you suspect infection, contact a medical professional straight away and let us know what is happening.

Will my tattoo need a touch up?

Some areas of the body and some styles are more likely to need a small touch up once healed. If you have any patchy spots after the healing period, send us a clear photo and we will let you know whether a touch up is recommended and how to book it.

How does laser tattoo removal work?

The laser fires short pulses of light into the tattoo pigment, breaking the ink particles into smaller fragments. Your body’s immune system then gradually clears these fragments away over time.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies from person to person. Factors include the age of the tattoo, colours used, depth of the pigment, skin type and whether it was done professionally or at home. Some tattoos fade enough for a cover up in a few sessions, while full removal can take more.

How much time do I need between sessions?

We usually leave at least 6 to 8 weeks between sessions to allow your skin and immune system to recover and to see the full amount of fading from the previous treatment.

Does laser removal hurt?

Most people describe it as a hot elastic band snap or tiny specks of hot oil on the skin. It is fast, but it can be sharp. We use cooling and other techniques to make it as comfortable as possible, and sessions are usually much shorter than a tattoo appointment.

Can you remove all colours?

Black and dark colours respond best. Some brighter colours, such as certain blues, greens and reds, can be more stubborn and may need more sessions or a different wavelength. In some cases we aim for enough fading for a cover up rather than complete removal.

Will laser removal scar my skin?

When done correctly on suitable skin and with proper aftercare, the risk of scarring is low, but it can never be completely ruled out. Scarring is more likely if aftercare is ignored, if you pick blisters or if you had scarring from the original tattoo.

Is laser removal safe for everyone?

There are some medical conditions and medications that mean laser is not suitable. At consultation we will go through your medical history, skin type and any other factors. If we feel removal is unsafe, we will explain why and discuss other options.

Do you sell merch or aftercare products at the studio?

Yes. We usually stock branded clothing, prints and recommended aftercare products. Ask at reception or your artist can show you what is available.

Is there parking nearby?

We will point you towards the nearest car parks, on street parking or public transport links when you book. If you are unsure, send us a message before your appointment and we can advise the best option.

Is the studio accessible for wheelchair users or people with mobility issues?

The studio is spread over two floors, but our ground floor and washroom are wheelchair friendly. If you use a wheelchair or have mobility needs, let us know when you book and your artist will make sure to use a suitable ground floor booth on the day.

Can I bring my own design or reference images?

Yes, absolutely. Bring screenshots, sketches or any reference that shows the style and elements you like. Your artist will then design something custom for you rather than copying another person’s tattoo directly.

Do you offer piercings or other services?

Our main focus is tattooing and laser removal. If we offer any other services, we will list them on our website and social media. If we do not offer what you are looking for, we may be able to recommend someone locally.

Do you ever run guest spots or events?

Yes, from time to time we host guest artists or hold special flash days and events. These are usually announced on our social media, so keep an eye out if you fancy something specific.

What if I have a complaint or I am unhappy with something?

We want you to leave happy, so please speak to us as soon as possible if there is an issue. Talk to your artist or reception in private, or email the studio if you prefer. All of our artists are self employed, but you can still contact the studio directly without any worries. We will always take your concerns seriously and work with you and the artist to find a fair solution.
